2. Purpose of the site

This site supports Short-Term Rental permitting information, applications, inventory tools, FAQ, and related help for Westport, including requirements under WMC Chapter 17.22. Use is also subject to other applicable City, state, and federal law.

3. Disclaimer — not legal advice; no warranties

Content is provided to help the public and applicants understand processes. It does not constitute legal advice, an official zoning determination, or a guarantee that a permit will be issued. Only City staff decisions under adopted code and procedures are controlling.

THE SITE AND ITS CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS.” TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE CITY DISCLAIMS WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. The City does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation.

If this deployment is identified as a proof-of-concept or test environment, treat data and outcomes as non-production until the City announces otherwise.

4. Accounts and accuracy of submissions

You are responsible for safeguarding account credentials (password or passkey) and for the accuracy of information you submit. Knowingly false statements in a permit application may violate City code and other law. Staff accounts must be used only for authorized official duties.

5. Acceptable use

  • Do not attempt to disrupt, probe, or bypass security or access controls.
  • Do not scrape or harvest personal data beyond ordinary interactive use.
  • Do not upload malware or content you lack rights to submit.
  • Do not use the site for unlawful purposes.

The City may suspend or terminate access that threatens security, integrity, or lawful operation.

6. Public records and privacy

Information you submit may be subject to disclosure under Washington’s Public Records Act. See the Privacy Policy and Cookie Notice.

7. Intellectual property

See the Copyright / reuse notice. Third-party marks and linked sites remain the property of their owners.

8. External links

Outbound links (for example municipal code hosted by a publisher, tourism information, or version control) are subject to the External links disclaimer.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Washington law, the City and its officers, employees, and agents are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of this site. Nothing in these terms waives sovereign immunity or other defenses available to the City except as required by law.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Venue for disputes involving the City lies in the appropriate Washington courts as provided by law.
